Hello Megan, I really enjoy reading your A Dash of Megnut and seeing all of your delicious recipes. I also enjoy eating healthy and experimenting with new flavor combinations.
I’m writing to you to see if you ever do any product reviews? I have started a company, Simply Native, which makes healthy food products made only with ingredients indigenous to North America.
I would love to send you a sample of our first product “Quick Cooking Wild Rice Hot Cereal”, if you’re interested in locally sourced and highly nutritious products made in Wisconsin.
Thank you and have a great day,
Colin”

Thank you for all of the great recipes and Gluten free tips. I was diagnosed with Celiac almost 20 years ago and still enjoy learning from others who have been more adventurous than myself . I plan on making the acorn squash recipe this Thanksgiving. My daughter is vegan and this will be a great opportunity for us to cook together again.
I am looking for a genuinely delicious oatmeal raisin cookie. Do you have any suggestions.
Thanks again for all of your hard work and willingness to share.
Respectfully,
Lori Niedenzu

Hi Megan! I came across your page looking for a slow cooker beef stew then I read your story. I am on a similar journey but I have been on it for a longer time. In the last 11 months I have been diagnosed with hypersomnia (think narcolepsy but worse. Fibromyalgia, anxiety, OCD, high muscle tension and anxiety, Yep this all since January. Each doctor wants to put me on another pill. The pills just make me sicker. My visit with my doctor in July was where I said nope no more pills so he said okay take a holistic approach so I hired a whole30 coach, I started yoga and did a few sessions of yoga therapy and I started biofeedback. Within two weeks I felt like a new person, all my pain was gone, no more exhaustion didn’t need to take Adderall in the afternoon, no mouth sores much better attitude no nausea no vertigo no nose bleeds and bounds of energy, brain fog lifted and no more running to the bathroom five minutes after I ate something! II saw the doctor six weeks later and he could not believe how I was feeling we redid my muscle tension test and I went from a 33 to a 26 (10 t0 12 would be normal). He asked what I was doing and I said what you told me to do. LOL Then he said well since you did it all at once, its hard to tell which one I told him it was diet and biofeedback. Well my coach didn’t work out and after 30 days I started to add this and that and as we know this and that just leads back into addiction. I am struggling with getting back on track with eating what my body needs but I have to tell you after eating gluten one day I w0ke up and could barely walk the pain in my heels, calves neck arms hands feet was back! I know have rashes on my face again and sores on my mouth and I am nauseated. I have never been tested for celiac but I know there is something going on with me that is food related. I do not think I have hypersomnia I may have fibromyalgia but if I do its caused by a food sensitivity. I have had allergy testing done years ago but It all came back negative. I guess being “diagnosed” really isn’t important as I am pretty sure gluten is the culprit followed by sugar and maybe diary. I have just started looking at other peoples reactions to food such as gluten so was very interested in readying your story and yes food can make you sick! Off to start my stew!
Megan says
Nancy! That is an AMAZING story! It’s crazy how food can affect us so much. I completely agree that being “diagnosed” isn’t important as long as you know what is and isn’t working for you. It’s such a struggle! I hope you continue to start feeling better and find what works for you!! Keep me updated on your progress!

Megan, you have the most interesting recipes here on your blog. I’m going to make the sweet potatoes with goat cheese and roasted grapes tomorrow .
I have a huge for my tiny family harvest of table grapes coming. They are purple but they’re not Concorde. I am wondering if you know if I could use them when they are frozen in roasted grape dishes – whether that would be safe and also whether it would not just be super runny? I love the idea of roasting them from a frozen state and using them all winter. What do you think?
