These sugared cranberries only take two ingredients: cranberries and sugar. A quick soak in simple syrup followed by a roll in sugar gives them that crystallized shell, ready for cheeseboards, desserts, or cocktails.

Instructions
In a small saucepan, combine 0.5 cups granulated sugar and ½ cup water. Heat over medium, stirring occasionally for 3-4 minutes until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Bring to a simmer and cook an additional 2-3 minutes. Remove from the heat and let cool for at least 15 minutes.
Add 2 cups fresh cranberries to the cooled syrup and stir until completely coated. Let soak for about 30 minutes.
Remove the cranberries with a slotted spoon and spread them on a wire rack with parchment paper underneath to catch any drips. Let dry for about an hour until the cranberries are dry to the touch but still tacky.
Place the remaining 1 cups granulated sugar in a bowl, plate, or small baking sheet. Working in batches, roll the cranberries until completely coated. Let dry again for at least an hour until completely dry to the touch.
