Add the ground beef to a dutch oven preheated over medium heat.

Cook for 5-6 minutes, until the beef is browned.

Add the olive oil and onions.

Cook for a few minutes, until the onions are translucent.

Add the diced carrots and minced garlic.

Stir to combine and cook an additional 3-4 minutes, until the carrots are slightly tender.

Chop the cabbage and stir it into the beef.

Cook for a few minutes, until the cabbage is beginning to get tender and cook down.

Add the tomato sauce, uncooked rice, brown sugar, worcestershire sauce, diced tomatoes, chicken broth and spices to the dutch oven.

Stir to combine.

Let the soup come to a boil and then put a lid on the top and simmer for at least 30 minutes.

Stir in the fresh parsley before serving.
