Ingredients

  • 4 cups shredded (unsweetened coconut)

Instructions

  • Process shredded coconut in a high-speed blender or food processor for 5-10 minutes. Scrape down the sides frequently.
  • The coconut butter will go from clumps, to paste, to liquid goodness. Be patient and take breaks when needed in order to not burn out your food processor.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature. Mason jars work great for this.

Notes

Follow my pictogram below to see the different stages of coconut butter. I didn't get a picture of the liquid stage because I was so excited by that point to get it into my jar that I forgot to take a picture of it in the blender! You'll want to keep processing a bit after the picture i step 3, it will get a bit more liquidy! When in doubt, scrape those sides!
