A simple fall charcuterie board is always a crowd-pleaser. It doesn't take long to put together and is perfect for fall entertaining. Cranberries, pumpkin, figs, and apples lend a fall touch to any cheese board. Mix and match your favorite cheeses and meats on a platter for a tasty appetizer everyone will love.

Start by adding bowls. These can contain jams, spreads, or small accoutrements like candied almonds, dried cranberries, or pickles. This provides the structure to start building your board.

Add cheese. For a board this size, I like to use 4-5 cheeses. I always use a hard cheese, a firm cheese, a semi-soft or soft cheese, and a blue cheese. For my last cheese, I pick a flavored seasonal cheese to change it up a bit.

Consider the color and shapes when selecting cheese. My brie was cut into wedges, the cranberry cheddar cheese was in block form but chiseled off for a rustic look, the manchego was cut into small squares, etc.

Add meat. For this board I went with a mix of cured meats - prosciutto, copper, and genial salami. I either rolled or bunched them up on the tray for different looks and textures.

I also used a dry salami that I sliced for easy grabbing. To make a Fall impact, you can always choose meats that have Fall herbs, spices or flavors. Think cinnamon, maple, or thyme.

Add the fresh produce, nuts, etc. This is where the bulk of the Fall inspiration is at! Anything from fresh apples, to candied nuts, to seasonal dips will make a fall inspired charcuterie board truly taste like Fall!

Don’t forget the dips and spreads. Think pumpkin hummus, pumpkin seed pesto, or apple butter. I went with a store-bought artichoke dip and fig jam. Honey is always a good idea!

Add the crackers. I like to use 2-3 different types of crackers on my boards. Find crackers that have dried cranberries in them or pumpkin seeds!

Fill in with fresh herbs or produce. Fresh rosemary is always gorgeous on a cheese board, but fresh sage and thyme work well here too. Mini white and orange pumpkins also set the tone for the board are are great for filling out space.
